I took up yoga today. I finished my normal run, crunches, and push-ups, and thought: I need more. I have wanted to be able to meditate for some time, but I have not been good at setting aside the time to practice. So I am hoping yoga will be my gateway activity. I am hoping it will get me in the right frame of mind for calmer things.
I started by searching my Roku choices for yoga channels, picked one, and sat down in front of the screen. Moments later I was following the prerecorded instructions given to me by a pleasant looking woman sitting across from me on her mat.
So now I do yoga. It was that simple really. The journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step, and all that. Next steps to follow.
In the meantime I ordered up some nice scented chakra candles for the store. I have some cool bags made from reclaimed billboard vinyl on the way, as well. And some really creative washable paper lunchboxes, beeswax wraps, and more organic clothing will be here soon after.
So I figure by the time I can touch my toes again the store should be bent into shape for spring.
Might be time to finally bring in some of those great looking bamboo and natural rubber yoga mats I have had my eye on by then.
Come on by if you are down with that.
